Should it be “And Adam called his wife’s name Eve, because she WAS the mother of all living”? Or should it be “And Adam called his wife’s name Eve, because she WOULD BECOME the mother of all living”?
Do both work equally well? I am asking for what the best / most accurate translation is.
I find it curious that Eve is called this when she is not the mother of Adam, and has not birthed Cain yet.
